Working Disabled Individuals (WDI)
 
The Working Disabled Individuals (WDI) program is a Medicaid program that provides low cost health insurance coverage to New Mexicans with disabilities who are working. WDI also offers coverage to New Mexicans who have recently lost their Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) while waiting to receive Medicare.
 
To Qualify:
1.    Must be at least 18 years of age.
2.    Determined Disabled by Social Security or State of New Mexico
3.    Employed
4.    Meeting Minimum Earnings Requirement, which change every year so visit your local Income Support Division (ISD) office to determine if you qualify.
 
To Apply:
Submit a completed application to your local ISD office. Obtain an application from your local ISD office or online at www.state.nm.us/hsd/mad/workingdisabled.

Focusing On Abilities (FOA)
WDI is an active member of Focusing on Abilities. The FOA is a partnership of State Programs, which unites people with disabilities, partners, and stakeholders to enhance, modify, or build systems that address and resolve health, transportation, housing, and other employment related issues. It is a project focused on improving service and support vital to enhancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
